We went today and I was very impressed. The fish seemed happy and active as well. They had lots to see and the sting rays were so friendly and seemed to love getting pets and food. It was a hit with my nephew who is 10 and was visiting the area.
It's awesome how close you can get with the animals! I saw a bunch of kids having a great time. Near the back, there's a play-type area where kids can get hands-on with things.
They also have a bird room (with parakeets) where you can feed the birds and hold them for 5 minutes.
It's a little small for how much each ticket costs, though ($43.87 was the total cost for 2 adults, not sure if baby cost anything since 1 year old). But understandable for how much the upkeep costs must be for each animal and exhibit.
I was looking at random places on the internet like you do and found this place. For essentially $20 per adult, there is about an hours' worth of fun here. I did enjoy watching the kids though. I liked the bird room the best. This is located on the first floor of the Mall of Louisiana between the two entrances of Dillard's. The employees are friendly. All of the animals seemed to be well cared for. There are signs all around advertising birthday parties, baby showers, engagement parties. Also there are mermaid shows, and feeding times for the fish.
We bought the stingray experience. Fabulous!! Not rushed at all, the manager was with us and she is the best. We felt like vip! We fed the birds right out of our hands. Excellent experience. Small but mighty! You can tell they love their animals
My 10 year old loved it. Most of the place is more like a fancy petsmart. And there is a strong smell in the back. It's overpriced, but worth a visit to go into the bird room, sting ray and shark touch pool, and water table area. We also did the mermaid meet and greet. You can buy tokens to feed the animals. I think the prices were $3 for 1 or $5 for 2 tokens. They got cheaper if you bought more. Next time we will just buy one for the bird room. It was very cool. The birds were everywhere and definitely not shy! One even tried to escape in my jacket. My daughter also loved the sting ray touch pool. They came right up to her over and over again! She spent the most time playing with the water tables. The whirlpool was her favorite. We experienced everything here in about 2 hours. I would say 1-2 hours is plenty of time to fully experience everything here.
The place is amazing, they have some beautiful exhibits, the ability to feed the sea life and welcoming staff and atmosphere make this an amazing stop. We’ve been to bigger aquariums that didn’t offer the personable service that Blue Zoo’s employees provide. Our daughter had a blast as did we.
